They are beautiful books with beautiful illustrations that tell a beautiful story of loyalty and hope.Īnd, to Mr. I know I’ve said it several times before but it’s worth saying again: if you haven’t read The Green Ember yet I highly recommend you do- even if you don’t particularly care for rabbits or swords (why you wouldn’t want to read a book about rabbits literally wielding swords is a different matter) BUT, it’s full of compelling, realistic characters and rich, mysterious world-building and has a fabulous ending. Unfortunately I did not cry at the end as many other readers have reported, but these books have been a part of my life and my sibling’s lives ever since the first of us finished “the dramatic bunny book”. Ember’s End, the finale to the Green Ember series came out a year ago (well, a year and two weeks ago), so to celebrate I thought I’d do a fully colored picture of my favorite moments in that book for each of the main characters in one big picture. So, it’s very late, but here’s my contribution to the Ember’s End birthday bash.
